It all started with the first "brewing system", which only brewed coffee with the optimum boiling pressure. Pieces in this collection include the models "Victoria Arduino" and "San Marco" from circa 1920.

Gaggia, La Cimbali and Faema are a few of the other firms represented in this collection of early hand-operated household machines.

After the war, Gaggia’s "Gilda" was a huge success. This two-armed operating brewing system from 1948 helped to revolutionise espresso machines for coming generations.

The museum collection also contains units from Gaggia, which were developed in 1938 by Mr Achille Gaggia himself. Some of the first hand-operated machines built for commercial use were also some of the first machines to produce a cream on top of the espresso. These machines are represented in the museum as well, e. g. "Crema Caffe", "Macchina tipo esportazione" and "Tipo America".

This system was later adopted by other coffee machine manufacturers such as Faema, Rancillio, La Cimbali and Caramali.

In the "Hydraulic-brewing" category are represented here by the models "Granluce" from La Cimbali.

Naturally, every model in the Faema range is represented in the legendary E61 series. The functional design of this brewing group has revolutionised espresso preparation.

Preceding models of the E61 series are also available to view, and these include "Serie Urania" with 1, 2, 3 or 4 brewing groups, and the "Serie Marte".

Representative units from different periods of espresso culture are permanently exhibited in the museum.
Many of these units are constantly in demand by exhibitions and serve as publicity magnets at various espresso events throughout Europe.
